Jesus Is Better
A Journey Through the Book of Hebrews
The book of Hebrews gives us one clear and compelling message: Jesus is better.
He is greater than the prophets and angels. He is our perfect High Priest, the mediator of a better covenant, and the once-for-all sacrifice for our sin. Everything that came before finds its fulfillment in Jesus, and everything we need for faith and life is ultimately found in Christ.
Over the next several weeks, we will journey through Hebrews chapter by chapter, discovering not only who Jesus is, but why surpassing greatness changes the way we live. Hebrews was written to believers who were facing pressure, discouragement, and the temptation to turn back. Its message calls us to hold firmly to Christ, draw near to God with confidence, run the race with endurance, and live by faith.
This fall, we will study Hebrews together as a church through worship, preaching, and discipleship. As many of our Sunday school classes explore Hebrews through the Wesley Bible Curriculum, our Sunday messages will follow the same biblical journey, giving us an opportunity to grow together in a shared understanding of Scripture.
Through it all, we will return to the central truth of Hebrews: Whatever we are tempted to trust, pursue, or cling to, Jesus is better.
