A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR…
I appreciate you taking the time to pause for a few minutes to read this newsletter. I don’t say that lightly because I know those who take the time to keep up with our church’s news and information care deeply about what we do. Here are three things for you this week:
1. The Back to School Bash was so much fun! Some of my highlights from this past Sunday were the fried chicken, the foam pit, the jazz band, and Maddie Beckmann’s call to worship. IYKYK! It was great to have our church family gather in fellowship and worship in one space. It gives me a greater appreciation for the CMC family. Thank you to all who made the day possible, and thanks to all who attended!

2. The Rooted Experience is coming to Clinton Methodist Church this fall. Rooted is a 10-week small group experience designed to connect you to God, the church, and your purpose. Together, in a group of 10–15 people, you’ll explore the Bible, engage in prayer and serve experiences, share stories, and practice rhythms essential to a healthy spiritual life. It is not a Bible study program, but rather the Rooted Experience is a gateway into a life of transformative discipleship through small groups. There are more than 2,000 churches that are currently a part of the Rooted Network. It is a proven catalyst for deepening spiritual growth and changing the discipleship culture of a church.
I am excited to pilot a Rooted small group on Wednesday nights starting in September. This pilot group will be limited to 30 participants and looks to target church leaders, those interested in facilitating future small groups, and current small group leaders. The goal will be to launch multiple new groups starting in January 2026. If you are interested in being a part of the pilot group, stay tuned for how to sign up next week.
3. Welcome Home: Finding Your Place at CMC. Are you new to Clinton Methodist Church—or looking for a fresh start in your faith journey? Join me on Wednesday nights beginning August 13th for a 3-week course that will introduce you to the mission, story, and spiritual rhythm of the new CMC. Over the past year, as an independent Methodist congregation, we’ve been meeting with groups within the church to pray, dream, and listen for God’s direction. What has emerged is a bold, simple discipleship strategy that reflects the kind of church we’re becoming: one where people connect in authentic community, abide deeply in Christ, and multiply the love of Jesus in everyday life. Whether you’ve recently returned, just become a member, or have been here for years, this class is your next step to growing in faith and see what is different about our church. Come be part of what God is doing here—we’re just getting started! I hope you will join me starting Wednesday, August 13th.
