We have some fantastic weather for this weekend! Make sure you get out and enjoy it. Why not come to church on Sunday and follow it up with lunch in the park? Clinton has several great parks to choose from – Brighton Park, Lions Club Park, or Kids’ Towne Park.

Here are a few things for you this week.

1. We will have a Beds of Hope bed build on Monday, February 16th.

This is a federal holiday with schools, banks, and government employees all getting the day off. Why not come join us for a few hours for a great cause? Our goal is to finish at least 10 beds and begin prepping another 10. There are two shifts available for you to choose from, or you can come and serve for longer. Shift 1 – 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Shift 2 – Noon to 2:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided! Click below to sign up.

BTW: There will be a special advocate from CASA in both worship services this Sunday to talk about how a partnership with Beds of Hope is making a huge difference in how they serve families in Hinds County.

2. This Sunday is Scouting Ministries Sunday in Traditions. Several families and their scouts will be present at Traditions to help with worship. We will get an update on the happenings with Troop 88B, Troop 88G, and Pack 88. Scouting is a phenomenal ministry that teaches Christian morals and outdoor skills and grows future leaders. We are proud to be the home for these scouts.

3. Encounter God’s Presence. This past Sunday we began our Encounter series by hearing God’s promise that He is found by those who genuinely seek Him (2 Chronicles 15:1-4; James 4:8). We were reminded that seeking God’s presence is not the same as seeking a feeling—because God often meets us in ordinary rhythms, not constant emotional highs. I had to learn this lesson as a teenager, and I’ve never forgotten it! There are several reasons we miss encountering God. Sometimes we don’t feel God because we are looking for the sensation, carrying spiritual “numbness,” or being invited to pursue Him more deeply. The invitation for this week is simple: keep seeking, keep drawing near, and trust that God is faithfully near—even when you don’t feel it.

4. Encounter God Daily. This is our focus for this coming Sunday in part of the Encounter series. I can’t wait to share with you some Biblical principles from the life of David and the psalms about how encountering God daily can fire up the engine of our spiritual life.

See you Sunday!

Jimmy
