A Word From Our Pastor…
The New Year is well underway and so are discipleship opportunities here at CMC. If you want to deepen your walk with Christ, learn more about our church, or get connected to community life, we have lots of options for you. Here are three things to explore:
1. Wednesday evenings are all about small groups and community life. Our church believes small groups that gather, study, and pray together help to deepen our spiritual walk with Christ. Below you will find several group options starting this month.
There will be two primary Bible Studies offered in January and February. The first group will feature material on “How to Study the Bible.” There will be three small groups focusing on helping you gain confidence in studying the Word of God. These groups will begin on January 21st.
Next, we will offer the Rooted Small Group Experience, which is your first step into community life through a small group. Rooted is an immersive small group experience designed to help you develop a deeper walk with Jesus through spiritual rhythms, honest community, and purposeful living. Rooted groups meet for 10 weeks and begin on February 25th.
What you’ll practice in How to Study the Bible and Rooted:
– Daily devotional habits and prayer
– Building authentic relationships
– Serving and worshiping together
2. Are you new to Clinton Methodist, want to know more about who we are, or get more involved in our church? Dig In is your next step. It’s a relaxed, small group experience where we’ll talk about how to grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus—and find your unique place in our church family.
Come hang out with me on Wednesday nights starting January 21st at 6:00 p.m. and learn what it looks like to connect in authentic community, abide deeply in Christ, and multiply the love of Jesus in everyday life.
No pressure. No weird questions. Just a space to dig in, go deeper, and grow together.
Dig In is your welcome and orientation to life and mission at Clinton Methodist.
The Rooted Experience and How to Study the Bible are your next steps into the rhythms of a deeply rooted disciple.

3. Vision Night January 11th! Our semester will kick off next Wednesday evening with a fellowship meal and a presentation about our church’s vision and strategic plan. We have had a group in our church for the past 18 months praying, dreaming, and vision casting about the next 5 years of ministry. We are excited to share with you the fruit of those conversations in our Vision and Strategic Planning Report. You will not want to miss this presentation! God is blessing our church in so many ways, and we can’t wait to tell you about what we see on the horizon!
4. We start a new sermon series this Sunday – “The Connected Life.” We live in the most connected age in history, yet loneliness is at an all-time high. Technology can draw us closer—or leave us isolated. The answer isn’t ditching devices; it’s learning to live The Connected Life and build meaningful relationships. I hope you will join us each week for this series. I can’t wait to share these messages with you!
God is good…All the time!
See you Sunday!
Jimmy
