A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR…

Hello Beautiful People! Sunday was a lot of fun! Right? It was a wonderful day of fellowship, worship, and service to our community. You certainly accomplished a lot of good. We worked at 4 C’s and the Nature Center cleaning and sorting. Started construction on 10 new beds for kids with the help of folks of all ages. There were 70+ boxes packed for Operation Christmas Child. A crew baked goodies for the city workers who were overwhelmed by your love when they received them. A team visited and brought joy to residents at Brookdale. Finally, we showed some love to our amazing preschool teachers by providing candy jars filled with sweet treats. I will share a story from the day on Sunday that warmed my heart. Thanks for being a serving and giving congregation!
Here are three things to keep in mind for the weekend.

1. Trunk or Treat is right around the corner! This is our church’s largest outreach event for the community, and we need all hands on deck to make it a safe and fun night. There are lots of ways to get involved. Check the information below to find out how to sign up to host a trunk or volunteer. Candy bins are placed all around campus. Admission to worship on Sunday is a bag of candy and the preacher will take a tithe from it! Just kidding, but we need lots of candy to put smiles on faces. I am asking for candy to fall like manna from heaven.

2. Check out a new coffee shop. We have some amazing coffee shops here in Clinton. When I want to feel young, I go hang out at Cups where all the MC kids hang. If you want to meet up with a group, then Starbucks is probably your go-to spot. Cafezinho is a cool spot to catch a brew at the drive-thru. Cups has been my 2nd office lately. The staff are amazing!

3. Children are taking over worship this week. This Sunday is National Children’s Sabbath. Nikki is working with our kiddos to lead our worship in both services. It is going to be so much fun seeing these young leaders bring their own voice to Traditions and Connections. Make sure to encourage them, give them a high five, and let them know what a great job they are doing.

See you Sunday!

Jimmy
