Throwback- Night Of Worship

A few months ago I was invited to lead worship at a weekend event for parents and grandparents of youth and children.  The age group was primarily GenX and older Millennials, so they wanted to make it a little extra fun for them by doing music from the mid-late 1990’s to early 2000’s.  I was thrilled to get to play some of those songs from back when I could still get off the floor without whimpering!

As I was planning for it, I asked around for suggestions for songs from that era that people remembered that still resonated with them.  The response from everyone I engaged with was filled with excitement and questions like, “Can I come?” or “When are you going to do that around here?”  Well, I now have an answer to that last question.

On March 2, we will be hosting “Throwback: A Night of Worship” in the Worship Center at 6:00 pm.  This will be a community event with worship pastors and musicians from various churches around our area joining in to lead.  It’s going to be a great night of nostalgia, but most importantly, it’s going to be a great night of gathering with our community to proclaim our faith together! I hope you’ll make your plans to join us!

p.s. If you have any old clothing from those days still in your closet that hasn’t seen the light of day in years, now is the time to bring it back out! I’m going to try to find some Nike Air high tops and tight roll my jeans.  Or maybe a neon track suit?  If I only had hair, I could put some gel in it and spike that stuff!
