A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR…

I want to start this week by thanking Nikki Parsons, Director of Children’s Ministry, and Jacob Hockensmith, Director of Youth Ministry, for an amazing Confirmation Retreat last weekend. I got to be a part of the retreat on Friday night and talk to the students about the sacraments. They were a very talkative bunch! Serving Communion with them in the services Sunday was a special moment that brought a lot of joy to my heart. I appreciate all the mentors and volunteers coming along side these students to walk with them on their spiritual journey. You are all living out the mission of connecting people to Jesus.

With that being said, this Sunday in worship we will continue the Life in Community series by looking at Ephesians 4:1-16. The message will focus on the power of connectivity by looking at the critical component of life-on-life relationships. The key to spiritual depth in our life is being connected to other growing Christians. To illustrate the point, I’ll be turning to a popular building material – Lego blocks! There is information down below about a Lego contest we are having in the Worship Center prior to the 11:00 a.m. service. Be sure to drop by after Sunday school to check out the displays.

Finally, our Winter Renewal Series starts on Sunday, February 16th. I encourage you to be in prayer for this series of services. I will be continuing to fast a couple of days next week to pray for you and Dr. Joe Dongell that the Holy Spirit will minister to our hearts. I hope you will do the same. What do you long for God to do during these three days? I long for the presence of God to draw near and for our hearts and minds to receive His Word with joy.

See the schedule below for all the details regarding the Renewal Series. And don’t forget about the teaching session on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The topic will be Wesleyan distinctives for today’s church. Everyone is invited to come for this session as well. There will be dinner provided for those that attend the teaching session who want to eat prior to the evening service. Reservations are required. You can register in the bulletin on Sunday or by emailing Dianne at [email protected].

I hope to see you Sunday!

Jimmy
