A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR…

I hope everyone weathered the tropical storm safely last night. Here are a couple of tidbits for you to consider this weekend.

1. “To make a friend, be a friend.”
Someone once told me this years ago. I think it is an important mindset to have when we come to church events. We have had several new families visit our church, and others who have come back to church over the past few weeks. If we want them to keep showing up, reach out to them with a warm “Methodist” welcome. Treat them as you would someone that you’ve invited into your home. When someone new visits a church, the friendliness of the people inside makes the biggest difference in whether they come back.

2. Serve Sunday is next week! I have been looking forward to this event for a long time. Our church exists to connect people to Jesus, and sometimes the best way to connect people to the love of Jesus is to love people like Jesus would love them. We have some really great projects prepared on campus and off campus to help us do exactly this. Take a moment right now to follow the link below to go ahead and sign up for your favorite service opportunity. There are a few more details to work out for the off-campus projects, but we should have those finalized by early next week. Don’t forget to bring your clothing donations for Shower Power next week as well.

I hope to see you Sunday as we continue our Exodus series by looking more closely at the life of Moses to learn how God uses him in an unbelievable way that goes beyond his own abilities.

Jimmy
