A Word from our Pastor…
I have three things for you this weekend…
1. Thanksgiving Worship Service and Potluck. Mark those calendars for Sunday, November 24th. There will be a combined worship service in the Family Life Building at 10:00 a.m. Following worship, we will enjoy a time of fellowship as we share a potluck meal together at 11:00 a.m. This will also be our Commitment Sunday for stewardship. You should receive a letter this week with information and materials regarding this year’s stewardship campaign.
2. A new young adult Sunday school class is starting soon! We are putting together a new group for young adults that will begin meeting on Sunday, November 17th in the College Hut. If you are in your 20’s or 30’s, this is your place to find community and deepen your walk with Christ. This group will be studying a wonderful book for families titled Habits of the Household by Justin Whitmel Earley. Ricky and Karen Kostal along with myself will be teaming up to lead this group.
3. Exodus is wrapping up soon and a new Advent series is coming December 1st.
There are only three more weeks in Exodus. We will continue the Israelite’s journey through the wilderness this week as they arrive at Mount Sinai where God will make a covenant with them. This covenant affirms them as God’s beloved people, and through the receiving of the Ten Commandments, it establishes the pattern for their life together. What is the continuing relevance of the “Big Ten” in a Christian’s life today? We will explore this question together in our message. Following Exodus, we will be offering a church-wide Advent study called Protagonist. Several of our Sunday school classes will be teaching from this series which will compliment the Sunday messages. This will be a wonderful series to prepare us for the Christmas season this year.
Hope to see you Sunday!
Jimmy
